Housed in a former post office, 1898 The Post is a magnificent boutique hotel located in the historic city of Ghent, Belgium. Run by French hotel group Zannier, the former post office underwent an extensive renovation to become the contemporary lodging it is today. The building stays true to its roots with a fully preserved facade and interior design that pays homage to the early 20th century. Between the inside and outside of the building, this hotel is a unique getaway for both locals and visitors.
1898 The Post & Daikin

The primary goal of the renovation project was to restore the building to its former glory days as an architectural gem. To complement the high-quality restoration project, Project Leader Geert De Paepe needed to install a climate control solution to meet the demands and expectations of a 5-star hotel, without compromising the authentic look and feel of the building.
As climate control specialists, we chose our VRV system for the Post Hotel Ghent for its combination of energy-efficient technology and ability to provide more comfort.
Invisible comfort

The VRV's space-saving design also makes it an ideal choice for this renovation project. Both outdoor and indoor units are easily concealed to deliver the perfect climate without disrupting the authentic atmosphere of the building.
Green hotel

Today, owners want to comply with green building standards and strive for sustainability certificates such as BREEAM, LEED or WELL. Throughout 1898 The Post's restoration, we took the lead in helping engineers and project managers create a sustainable solution, while also keeping costs under control.
