Emondt Multiclima supplies high-quality climate systems across The Netherlands. As a forward-thinking company, a core objective for Emondt is to stay ahead of the curve, using the latest HVAC solutions to help customers future-proof their project, meet their sustainability goals and address regulatory requirements.
The next generation of HVAC systems
When it came to updating its own offices, Emondt turned to Daikin to explore the options to make a leap in future-proof HVAC design. Having worked with VRV applications over many years, Emondt recognised the long-term value and flexibility VRV technology has to offer. That confidence made the decision to partner with Daikin on Netherlands’ first CO2 VRV installation a natural next step.
Meeting the needs of tomorrow “The new CO2 VRV system and Daikin’s Round Flow ceiling cassettes has met the all-round cooling and heating needs of the the office and canteen”, says Thijs Van Aarsen, Account Manager at Emondt Multiclima. “Installing the system in our own offices shows how CO2 VRV helps with future compliance and in securing successful green building accreditation. “In addition, it allows us to explain first-hand about the relevant laws and regulations involved, giving customers the confidence to move forward with us and Daikin into the future of HVAC solutions”.
The benefits of CO2 VRV
R-744 (CO2), with a GWP of just one, is an HFC-free & PFAS-free refrigerant, classified as A1 (non-flammable and low toxic) according to IS0817. As such, CO₂ sits entirely outside the scope of the F-Gas regulation and proposed PFAS restrictions, eliminating compliance risks. By combining the strong benefits of CO2 with the simple design and installation of VRV systems Emondt can offer customers the reassurance of a low GWP solution in an easy to install package. “As operational emissions decline through grid decarbonisation, the climate impact of refrigerants gains importance, making future ready refrigerant choices increasingly relevant.” adds George Dimou, Department manager for Daikin’s commercial air-to-air portfolio. “CO₂ VRV makes low GWP refrigerants accessible for new build and refurbishment projects, while keeping VRF’s technology core benefits: offering efficient and comfort in an easy to design and fast to install package.” With this project Daikin demonstrates that an HFC-free refrigerant solution for commercial buildings is both technically viable and available to support the next phase of decarbonisation across Europe.
“We aim to lead the transition to low GWP refrigerants, and Daikin is the ideal partner to make that happen.”
