Why choose a heat pump?
By opting for heat pumps for your commercial building, you can efficiently and sustainably heat your commercial space. Leveraging free energy for up to 75% of their operation, heat pumps are up to four times more efficient than traditional boilers. Incorporating high-efficiency heat pumps in renovations or new constructions will help achieve your sustainability goals, significantly slashing CO₂ emissions and lowering energy costs. A cornerstone of the EU Green Deal is to create more energy efficient buildings as the building sector is responsible for 36% of the total greenhouse gas emissions in the EU.
Solutions for small and large applications
Daikin’s wide and flexible portfolio makes it possible to combine a variety of different solutions to satisfy the needs for both small and large commercial applications across different outdoor ambient temperatures.
What are my savings when choosing a commercial heat pump?
A heat pump uses up to 75% renewable heat from the air, water or ground and requiresonly 25% electricity to operate. This results in a significantly higher energy output than the energy consumed. Typically, a heat pump can deliver up to 4 kWh of heat from 1 kWh of electricity, equivalent to an efficiency of around 400% (SCOP) — far exceeding traditiona lboiler systems.
Replacing a conventional gas boiler with a heat pump can lead to substantial reductions inenergy consumption, operating costs, and CO₂ emissions. In representative commercial applications, heat pumps can deliver:
Significant energy savings
Short return on investment periods (around 2–3 years in typical scenarios)
Considerable CO₂ emission reductions
The exact savings depend on factors such as building characteristics, operating hours, local climate, energy prices, and system design. All performance and savings figures aretherefore project-specific.

Air-to-Air Heat Pump
Air-to-air heat pumps transfer heat between the outdoor air and the building using refrigerant gas providing heating, cooling and domestic hot water. They are amongst the most efficient ones since they only use 2 energy transfer steps (air-refrigerant-air).
