The Daikin EWYK-QZ is a modular air-to-water inverter heat pump using R-290 refrigerant, engineered to scale from a single 135 kW module up to 2000 kW across multiple arrays.
Its plug-and-play design allows modules to be added side-by-side or stacked as your project grows — making it equally at home in new installations, large-scale retrofits, and demanding industrial environments.

Plug & Play modular system

Flexible scalability and modular installation up to 2000 kW.

The system grows with your project, allowing modules to be added progressively in line with the building’s development plan. Units can be installed side-by-side or stacked to minimise footprint, with up to four arrays of four modules and up to 60 possible configurations in a single system.

Full Inverter Technology

VFD scroll compressors and inverter-driven EC fans adapt in real time to load variations, ensuring outstanding part-load efficiency across all seasons.

Plug & Play Installation

A single power cable supplies up to four modules. The Manifold Kit with all inter-unit piping can be pre-installed at the factory to further cut on-site time.

High-Temp Operation

Delivers heating water up to 75 °C even at outdoor temperatures as low as −20 °C — a direct boiler replacement for the most demanding applications.

Natural Refrigerant

R-290 (propane) carries a GWP of just 0.02 — future-proof compliance with F-gas regulation and a dramatically reduced carbon footprint.

Pump Module Option

A dedicated pump module with an inverter pump and 18-litre expansion tank integrates directly into the array for a fully self-contained hydronic system.

Retrofit Ready

Compact stacking and modular growth make the EWYK-QZ ideal for projects where space is limited and phased capacity expansion is required.

Daikin Safety Shield

Safety built into every layer

  • Two refrigerant leak detectors — covering both the compressor box and the electrical panel.
  • ATEX-certified extraction fans — maintain positive pressure and clear any leakage from both enclosure.
  • Acoustic & visual siren — activated immediately by leak detectors for fast emergency response.
  • Independent power supply — all safety devices run on a dedicated circuit, separate from the main unit supply.
  • Safety valve manifold — routes refrigerant outside the compressor box in any overpressure event.

Daikin's safety approach covers the full product lifecycle — from production and storage to transport, installation, maintenance, and disposal — ensuring partners and end users operate in a safe environment at all times.

Hydronic circuit protection

A dedicated water-leak separator detects any refrigerant presence in the water circuit. A mechanical shut-off valve automatically isolates the unit, protecting the broader system.

Coil covers

Collect any leakage within the compressor box and channel it toward the leak detector, ensuring rapid detection before refrigerant can disperse.

Refrigerant storage tanks

Ensure safe containment of R-290 throughout transport, installation, and commissioning — reducing risk at every stage of the product lifecycle.

Certified Installers only

Installation requires qualification through the Stand By Me portal and registration via the e-Care App, guaranteeing every unit is commissioned by a trained professional.

Intelligent Chiller Manager

1. Full plant optimisation

Coordinates all modules in heating or cooling mode, guaranteeing high efficiency and reliable performance regardless of plant size or configuration.

2. Extended architecture

Manages cooling towers and manifolded pumping systems for both air-cooled and water-cooled installations from a single interface.
