Commercial refrigeration in a transcritical cycle

Mini NS21 compact system from Tewis

Tewis is the expert in the Daikin Group for CO2 refrigeration systems. In addition to its expertise in customer-specific control and regulation systems (including monitoring), Tewis and its 100 employees offer comprehensive overall solutions for air-conditioning and refrigeration applications. In recent years, the manufacturer has focused specifically on the development of CO2 refrigeration systems. At Euroshop 2020, the company, which is a leader in the field of technical planning and implementation of refrigeration systems, will be presenting the new Mini NS 21, a compact refrigeration system for cooling and deep-freezing. This is ensured by a booster, which provides the connection to freezer shelves or cold stores.

Innovative technology in minimal space

The Mini NS21 can have up to two MT compressors and one LT compressor. An inverter for the MT compressor, and optionally for the LT compressor, ensures that operation is adapted to current requirements, thus saving energy. The system also has a storage tank for the oil separator, a liquid container with a capacity of 48 litres, which contains an internal evaporator sensor for connection to the back-up unit, and two electronic sensors that monitor the refrigerant level. The system comes fully wired and equipped with electronic controls. It takes little space (a footprint of less than one square metre), while allowing easy access to all components, simplifying installation and maintenance.

CO2 refrigerant

With a GWP (GWP = Global Warming Potential) of 1, natural refrigerant CO2 is particularly climate-friendly and also works more efficiently than other refrigerants thanks to its high volumetric cooling capacity. Its positive thermodynamic properties such as low viscosity, high thermal conductivity, high vapour density and classification in safety class A1 as a non-toxic and non-flammable refrigerant make CO2 the ideal refrigerant for food refrigeration.
