Daikin to make additional donation to support victims of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria

BRUSSELS, 2 March 2023 - Daikin Europe N.V. announced that the Daikin Group will donate an additional 107,000 euro, as well as 20,000 euro worth of emergency supplies to help the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. 

 

In view of the extensive damage caused in Turkey and Syria by the recent earthquakes, Daikin has decided to make an additional donation to support the victims. Together with the already announced donation of supplies worth 230,000 euro for victims in Turkey, this brings the total amount donated by the Daikin Group to 357,000 euro.

Daikin’s additional donation will go to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which is engaged in support activities for victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Daikin will also deliver relief supplies to the affected areas through the Turkey Disaster and Management Authority and the Turkish Red Crescent Society. 

In the meantime, Daikin Europe group employees in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) are raising funds and making donations. Daikin Europe will deliver the collected sum to the affected areas adding an amount equal to the collected donations.

Masatsugu Minaka, Senior Executive Officer of Daikin Industries and Chairman of the Board of Daikin Europe said, ‘We are deeply saddened by the suffering caused by the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Our thoughts are with all victims. As the magnitude of the devastation has become more clear, Daikin has decided to provide further emergency relief supplies to the affected areas and to make additional donations to the international aid organisations. We hope everyday life can be restored soon.’
