Daikin opens its first factory in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Brussels, 14 November 2022Daikin Europe N.V. has announced that its subsidiary Daikin Middle East and Africa FZE (Daikin MEA) opened a new factory in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The factory is the company's first in Saudi Arabia and its second in the Middle East after Dubai. The opening of the factory is part of the company's five-year growth plan for the Middle East region.

High quality, made in Saudi Arabia

Through its many subsidiaries, Daikin Europe is active throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Over the years, the company has been developing its business in each region by producing as close to the market as possible to provide products that meet local needs.

As part of this proximity strategy, Daikin Europe has recently opened its first factory in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The custom-built premises are located close to the nation’s capital Riyadh and will be operated by Daikin Saudi Arabia, an affiliate of Daikin MEA. The factory is certified according to the international certifications ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 for environmental management, quality management and occupational health and safety management. Products will be certified by Eurovent, the European industry association for indoor climate, process cooling, and food cold chain technologies.

‘We will be producing high-quality applied air-conditioning products at the factory, including air- handling units, air-filtration units and energy-recovery ventilators. We are very proud they will now carry the label Made in Saudi Arabia,’ says Takayuki Kamekawa Daikin Europe Vice President Sales Affiliate Network.

Growing with Saudi Arabia and the Middle East

Daikin MEA has its own strategic investment and expansion plan to become the leading Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Refrigeration and Heating company in the region. ‘With this investment in the region, we can contribute to improving the region’s energy efficiency and sustainability while creating vital job opportunities and supporting local economic growth,’ states Masaaki Miyatake, Chairman & President at Daikin Middle East & Africa.
