Daikin in CDP’s ‘A List’ for climate change and water security

Brussels, 12 January 2026 – Daikin was recently selected by CDP for its ‘A List’, the organization’s highest ranking, in the Climate Change and Water Security categories. CDP is a global non-profit that operates the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system for companies and local governments. Daikin was recognized for its excellent policies and disclosure practices relating to climate change and water security. This selection represents the second consecutive time – and the fifth time overall – that Daikin has received an A score for climate change and the first time for water security.

Climate action and transparent reporting

CDP is a non-profit organization that encourages companies and local governments to take environmental action and disclose information about these activities. That includes the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the preservation of water resources and forests. Each year, CDP collects, analyses, and surveys information on the environmental activities of major companies around the world. It reviews the information using its own unique evaluation process, and publishes the results. This information is used by global institutional investors and others with a strong interest in environmental issues. More than 22,100 companies worldwide responded to the 2025 survey.

Daikin’s environmental vision

In working to resolve various societal issues, including global environmental issues, Daikin remains committed to long-term value creation and contributing to the growth of a sustainable society.

That is especially true in Daikin’s core business of air conditioning, where demand is expected to expand as a vital form of infrastructure supporting human health and economic development. With rising energy consumption becoming a major societal issue, the company has made addressing climate change its most important priority. In its Environmental Vision 2050, Daikin has set a goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gases and incorporated this goal into its Fusion 25 strategic management plan. Daikin is currently working to achieve this goal across its entire value chain, including measures in manufacturing, development and supply of environmentally-conscious products, and by establishing refrigerant recovery and reclamation systems in the market.

Water is an important resource that is closely related to climate change and biodiversity. Daikin’s manufacturing bases around the world are currently strengthening measures such as reducing water withdrawals by reusing wastewater.

In the future, Daikin will continue to take action on key environmental issues, including climate change and water conservation. Delivering air comfort innovations around the globe goes hand in hand with nurturing nature and communities.
