Daikin Europe launches Daikin Altherma 3 R MT, a mid-temperature refrigerant split heat pump

Brussels, August 31st 2023 – Daikin Europe N.V. is proud to present the new Daikin Altherma 3 R MT, a mid-temperature refrigerant split heat pump. With this heat pump, Daikin Europe extends the Daikin Altherma 3 heat pump range for the replacement of fossil fuel boilers. The launch fits into Daikin’s strategy to help decarbonize heat in Europe.

Daikin Altherma 3 R MT, a mid-temperature refrigerant split heat pump, is the newest addition to the Daikin Altherma 3 range. After the market success of the Daikin Altherma 3 H HT (2019) and Daikin Altherma 3 H MT (2021), Daikin decided to develop a refrigerant split version. Daikin Altherma 3 R MT will replace the current Daikin Altherma HT in the foreseeable future.  This iconic product, launched in 2008, was the first high-temperature heat pump that allowed full replacement of a fossil fuel heating system.

The Daikin Altherma 3 R MT can provide a leaving water temperature of up to 65°C, which is effective enough to heat older houses with existing radiators. On the performance level, the heat pump shows impressive results, even during winter. The unit works perfectly even down to an outside temperature of -25°C and can also provide a leaving water temperature (LWT) up to 65°C at an outside temperature of -15°C, by relying on heat pump operation only.

Daikin Altherma 3 R MT is a silent heat pump. The sound level of 35 dBA in low sound mode at a distance from 3 metres is comparable to being in a library. It achieves up to an A+++ space heating energy label, and an A+ (the maximum) in domestic hot water.
