By investing in its German heat pump factory Daikin Manufacturing Germany GmbH (DMGG), Daikin is demonstrating its commitment to make Germany and Europe a climate-neutral economy by 2050.
Brussels, 23 March 2021 - The coronavirus crisis has not prevented Daikin from continuing to invest in Europe. To meet the growing demand, Daikin Europe is investing in the EU by adding a production line in the Daikin Manufacturing Germany GmbH (DMGG) factory in order to build even more hydronic heat pumps. This new production line will enable Daikin to produce wall-mounted indoor heat pump units used in several product ranges. With this new production facility, Daikin aims to strengthen its footprint in Europe’s leading manufacturing hub and key heating market at the core of the energy transition.
An increase in production capacity in Germany to meet EU demand
Daikin, market leader in heating and air conditioning, is expanding its production capacity in Germany by adding a new production line at its DMGG factory. While the Covid-19 crisis perhaps makes the economic situation look uncertain, Daikin is investing in Germany to meet growing demand. Daikin is enhancing the production of wall-mounted indoor heat pump units used in several product ranges such as Daikin Altherma 3, high and low temperatures heat pumps to name but a few. To make this possible, the DMGG factory has already increased the number of employees by 37% since October 2020.
The new production line will be responsible for approximately 20,000 units by end of 2021, and is expected to expand further in the coming years.
‘Made in Germany’ for a greener future
Daikin, a proud European company, advocates ‘Made in Europe’ and by extension ‘Made in Germany’ production to further strengthen its commitment to the Green Deal and to the German Climate Plan. By expanding production to Germany, Daikin aims to strengthen its footprint in Europe’s leading manufacturing hub and key heating market at the core of the energy transition. The fact that the systems for Europe are also developed and produced in Europe has always been of paramount importance to Daikin. German production is fully integrated within Daikin’s manufacturing strategy and distribution across the European markets.
Patrick Crombez, General Manager Heating and Renewables at Daikin. “We do not let the Covid-19 pandemic distract us from our objective. Step by step, we are reaching the goal we set ourselves to become a leading actor in the German heating sector by continuously promoting heat pumps as a renewable solution/alternative.
