Daikin Türkiye Becomes the Name Sponsor of Galatasaray Women's Volleyball Team

Acting with the vision of supporting women's employment and equal opportunities, Daikin Türkiye continues to support women's success in sports through its sponsorships. For the 2023-2024 season, Daikin undertook the naming rights sponsorship of Galatasaray Women's Volleyball Team. The team will play matches this season under the name Galatasaray Daikin Women's Volleyball Team.

The ongoing sponsorship agreement between the leading brand of the air-conditioning industry Daikin Türkiye, and Galatasaray Sports Club was taken to the next level in the 2023-2024 season. Daikin Türkiye, which supported Galatasaray Women's Volleyball Team as the name and jersey chest sponsor in previous years, undertook the naming right sponsorship of Galatasaray Women's Volleyball Team this season.

Daikin Türkiye, which launched the Sakura Women Technicians and Sakura Women Entrepreneurs Programme in order to support women's employment and equal opportunities and aims to increase the ratio of female employees to 50% by 2025, was the name sponsor of Galatasaray Women's Volleyball Team between 2012-2015 and continued its support as the jersey chest sponsor in the 2022-2023 season. In the new 2023-2024 season, it will take the court as Galatasaray Daikin Women's Volleyball Team with the naming right sponsorship.

On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, Galatasaray Board Member Mehmet Saruhan Cibara and Daikin Türkiye CEO Hasan Önder attended the signing ceremony of the agreement held at Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex Press Meeting Room.

Hasan Önder, CEO of Daikin Türkiye expressed their satisfaction with the long-standing co-operation with Galatasaray and said: “As Daikin Türkiye, we give great importance to women's employment and equal opportunities. We support women in every field and we have been continuing this support in the field of sports for a long time. In this context, we were the name sponsor of Galatasaray Women's Volleyball Team between 2012-2015, and last year we supported the team as the jersey chest sponsor. In the 2023-2024 season, we will continue this support by undertaking the naming rights sponsorship again. The team will take the court this season under the name Galatasaray Daikin Women's Volleyball Team. Galatasaray and Daikin, two strong names in their respective fields, will achieve greater success this season by supporting more women's participation in Turkish sports together. I wish this agreement to be auspicious.”

Mehmet Saruhan Cibara, Galatasaray Board Member made the following statements at the meeting, expressing his happiness that the two leading brands in their field are coming together again: “It makes us proud to be together with Daikin again and to embark on a long-term journey. While Daikin is sponsoring women's volleyball in Türkiye again, we are very pleased that it is with our team. Daikin is an organisation that supports sports in Turkey, not only volleyball. It is not only a giant in its own sector, but also a giant for us with this understanding. Therefore, we are very happy to be together again. I hope we will continue our journey, that started with the Balkan Cup, with the CEV Challenge Cup in the first match we will play today. Our aim is to bring Turkish women, Turkish youth and the young stars we raise to the championship - not only in Türkiye but also in Europe. We wish to create a new vision for them. I would like to thank Daikin again for being with us on this journey.”
