Launch of HXHD200A8 Hydrobox - DEUEN18-012

7/06/2018

Total comfort in one system

Daikin continues to expand its total climate control solution with the launch of a new high capacity high temperature hydrobox.

Increasingly, commercial and large building users are looking to combine their HVAC-R requirements into a single solution, demanding reliable hot water supply, in addition to achieving maximum energy efficiency. Daikin’s extension of its range provides an ideal, contemporary solution.

Leading the market in climate control solutions

Specialists in climate control systems, Daikin’s revolutionary Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) system revolutionized the market when it was first introduced. Continuing the trail blazing trend, the latest VRV IV series offers the ultimate in commercial air conditioning, combining advanced technology with economy.

Innovative features ensure the sustainable use of energy through heat recovery and waste reduction.  Unique developments providing maximum comfort and ease of installation and use include: Variable Refrigerant Temperature which automatically adjusts refrigerant temperature according to actual load ensuring operation to the required capacity only; continuous heating during defrost mode which avoids sudden temperature drops to maintain comfort levels and advanced configuration software for fast and easy configuration and commissioning.

Providing precise control across multiple zones and individual rooms, Daikin’s VRV solution is easily scalable to suit any size of building, with the connection of unlimited indoor units to a single outdoor unit.

Daikin is committed to the development of environmentally friendly air conditioning systems and heat pumps and continually strives to improve the energy efficiency of its systems, while delivering the highest levels of performance. The extension of the high temperature hydrobox is the latest in a range of system developments which have been introduced since the launch of the new VRV IV series. This is another step for Daikin Europe NV in becoming the Nr.1 manufacturer with the lowest CO2 equivalent footprint in the HVAC-R+S industry. Said George Dimou, VRV product manager of Daikin Europe N.V.

Infinite possibilities

The addition of the HXHD200A8 large capacity high temperature hydrobox to Daikin’s VRV portfolio, offers one of the most advanced solutions for indoor environmental management on the market. Providing cooling, heating, ventilation and hot water in one single system, Daikin’s latest VRV solution is ideal for larger more complex applications in offices and hotels.

With the ability to provide hot water up to 80°C, the high temperature hydrobox is capable of achieving 17% greater efficiency than a gas boiler, while using renewable (aerothermal) energy. With the integration of the HT hydrobox for the production of sanitary hot water, every building can easily achieve EPBD requirements and comply to most national legislation about the use of renewable energy for hot water production (approximately 50%).

The new 200 class hydrobox unit provides up to 22.4kW of heating power. The potential to connect to domestic hot water tanks and solar panels offers installers further options to meet diverse water supply needs cost effectively.

The new HXHD200A8 series is suitable for the supply of domestic hot water for sinks, and showers and the delivery of hot water for low temperature radiators and unfloor heating, as well warming up incoming air from air handling units.

In addition to this new product, Daikin Europe NV, has released a detailed design guide for a proper selection of all necessary equipment of an optimal hot water system.

Zero waste

Next to the convenience offered by a single system and the benefits heating hot water with a heat pump, are the considerable savings offered by heat recovery, with heat extracted from units in cooling recycled for heating, a holistic approach that offers all-round efficiency with lower consumption. Where the system is connected to hot water tanks, the heat extracted can also be stored for later use.

Proven Technology: Case studies

Daikin’s VRV solutions provide a discreet and economic all-in-one climate control solution for city and leisure hotels. The addition of hot water in the all-in-one solution provides further economies of scale, generating significant additional savings in a convenient, environmentally friendly solution.

With a focus on minimising CO2 emissions and moving away from fossil fuel-based solutions, the ARBOREA marina resort in Neustadt Germany opted to install the new hydrobox which now generates hot water for the underfloor heating in its restaurants.

For the owners of the Sani Resorts in Greece the attraction was the savings offered by large-scale deployment of the high temperature hydroboxes. Initially installed to replace an existing gas burner in the 20,000 m² Sani Beach Hotel, the system quickly proved its worth: with a saving of 40% in hot water costs, the new installation was paid back in less than 3 years! Daikin’s hot water heat pump technology has since been installed in all five Sani resorts.
