Daikin has announced the launch of Daikin Cloud Plus, an innovative new solution with powerful functionality that enables facility managers, technical staff, building owners and energy consultants, to control, manage and service HVAC systems remotely to ensure the comfort of occupants and to optimise environmental performance throughout the building lifecycle.

Sustainable powerhouse delivers total lifecycle control

An intelligent, web-based remote monitoring and service solution, Daikin Cloud Plus allows users to manage, optimise and manage their HVAC systems from anywhere. Cloud-based technology provides easy access via individual login to a central portal, enabling 24/7 tracking and control from configuration through to ongoing management of energy usage and operational performance, while simplifying maintenance to help keep costs down through condition monitoring.

Smart green building

Smarter and greener buildings

Operating in real time, Daikin Cloud Plus captures and analyses various aspects of your building, such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning and other building facilities, facilitating energy usage comparisons which can be fed into the planning, implementation and regulation of organisational heating or cooling policies designed to maintain comfort levels while cutting energy costs.

Simple to operate, user-centric controls allow portal users to access and remotely adjust a range of system settings including temperature and set points, fan speed and direction, and air flow volumes to ensure the comfort and operational needs of local users are fully met. Flexible scheduling options allow centralised pre-programming of settings to further conserve energy, for example, by reflecting occupancy patterns.

Additionally, advanced interlocking functionality employs “if this…then that” logic to interact dynamically with building systems for increased flexibility and responsiveness. For example, when a window is opened, air conditioning is adjusted or shut off to cut energy usage and minimise running costs.

Through its open system with common communications protocols and associated gateways/adapters, Daikin Cloud Plus delivers seamless connectivity that enables comprehensive data sharing and integration with other building systems to create a customisable total HVAC control solution for smarter buildings. This includes the monitoring of other energy-consuming services such as gas and water, for instance, as well as standalone lighting systems.

Equally important, integration through Daikin Cloud Plus offers the possibility to amalgamate multiple sites into a single centralised platform, facilitating top-down strategic management to achieve high level, company-wide operational and energy goals.

A breath of fresh air

The importance of air quality is increasingly recognised as a major factor in creating a healthy building environment. The Daikin Cloud Plus platform integrates with Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) sensors, monitoring and analysing the IAQ data to provide warnings or take automated actions as required to assure the fresh, clean air necessary to the well-being of building occupants.

Peace of mind

Alongside energy performance, HVAC system reliability is also key in delivering service satisfaction to building users, particularly where temperature control is vital. Daikin Cloud Plus assists with preventive maintenance by anticipating and preventing unplanned downtime of heating or cooling to avoid ad-hoc repair costs and minimise disruption.

Daikin Cloud Plus enhances existing control and maintenance programmes. Individual indoor and outdoor units are continuously monitored for performance and functionality, with regular diagnostics remotely carried out to ensure settings are fully optimised. Should a malfunction be detected, such as a refrigerant leak or component failure that necessitates a site visit, the information provided by the platform means the service engineer will arrive ready briefed, often assuring a faster resolution.

Service and Solutions Department Manager Saidja Geirnaert sums up the benefits offered by Daikin Cloud Plus:

“Daikin is committed to a sustainable future by helping our clients improve energy usage and lower carbon emissions during the lifetime of our equipment. Daikin’s next generation Cloud Plus technology enables advanced intelligence and control, so you have the power to take decisive actions that not only reduce energy costs but also ensure your operations run smoothly.

Our predictive maintenance service is designed with your convenience in mind, preventing unnecessary downtime and allowing you to concentrate on what truly matters to your business.

The platform enables tailored HVAC solutions according to your specific business needs such as hotel, office and non-food retail applications.”
