Brussels, Belgium, 5 November 2025 – Daikin Industries, Ltd., parent company of Daikin Europe N.V. and a global leader in building climate solutions, has announced its participation in the Buildings and Cooling Pavilion at COP30. The Pavilion is organised by the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC), a United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) initiative. The event will take place in Belém, Brazil, from 10 to 21 November 2025.
The decarbonisation of buildings is a critical international priority, especially in Europe, where policy and market momentum for heat pumps and energy-efficient HVAC is accelerating. Daikin’s participation at COP30 signals its commitment to supporting global and European climate goals, with a focus on practical, scalable solutions for reducing emissions in the built environment.
Daikin will present at the session “Unlocking Energy Efficiency with Sustainable Cooling and Heating for Buildings” on 11 November 2025. The company will showcase its initiatives to promote energy-efficient air conditioning and heat pump heating, supporting the decarbonisation of buildings; a sector responsible for approximately 37% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
What will be covered in the session
- Focus on Operational Carbon: The session will highlight the need to reduce operational carbon (emissions from building operation and energy use), which is the largest contributor to a building’s whole-life carbon footprint.
- International Collaboration: The event will feature representatives from GlobalABC, Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the UK Government, and the International Energy Agency (IEA), underlining the global importance of decarbonising the built environment.
- Daikin’s Solutions: Daikin will present its latest energy-saving HVAC solutions, including integrated ventilation and air conditioning systems, and advanced heat pump technologies. The company will also share its ongoing efforts to encourage the wider adoption of these technologies.
Additional Sessions
Daikin will participate in further COP30 events, including:
- “Making Heat Pumps the New Normal for Clean Heating” (14 November)
- “Efficient Cooling and Ventilation for Comfort and Decarbonization” (19 November)
- A seminar on “Turning Avoided Emissions into Corporate Value” at the Japan Pavilion (14 November), organised by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
