Daikin strengthens production and r&d capacity of heating systems in germany

Germany, 12 March 2020 – Daikin Europe N.V., market leader in heating, refrigeration and air conditioning technologies, is strengthening its presence in Germany. The existing ROTEX site will be operated within the network of Daikin Europe factories. Daikin Europe is set to increase their production and R&D capacity of its factory in Germany within 2020.

By strengthening its presence in Germany and in the ROTEX site specifically, Daikin is positioning itself as a leader in the European heating and cooling industry. It will help support other countries in Europe, with central position in Europe facilitating connection with other European countries.

Junji Umamoto, Vice President New Business Daikin Europe N.V.: “We have set a clear goal to become a leading actor in the German heating sector especially in renewables. By bundling the expertise from the areas of heat pump / air conditioning technology and heating technology, Daikin is appearing more strongly in Germany overall - for more customer proximity, sustainable growth and innovative strength. An important focus here is the heating market in Germany.”

One global brand, made in Germany

The extension of the German production and R&D capacity follows the announced integration of the sales, marketing and service activities of Daikin Airconditioning Germany GmbH and ROTEX Heating Systems GmbH. ROTEX Heating Systems GmbH is an established manufacturer of condensing boilers, floor heating systems, solar water heaters and heat pumps. Specifically, this integration means that heating products manufactured by ROTEX are Daikin-branded as of January 1 2020. As a global leader in heating and cooling technologies, Daikin will further expand its production capacities in the ROTEX production site in Güglingen in the coming years. By doing so, Daikin aims to expand its European production network.

Filip De Graeve, Managing Director of ROTEX Heating Systems GmbH & Daikin Air conditioning Germany GmbH: “We are on the cusp of a massive breakthrough in the German and European heating sector. The ‘Made in Germany’ label continues to be a proof of quality, and Daikin wants to do its part in making sure it remains so.”
