Reliable and cost-effective cooling for laboratories, telecom shelters, server rooms, and IT applications.

The Sky Air solution for technical cooling

Daikin Sky Air systems are engineered to meet the specific demands of technical cooling applications—combining reliability, efficiency and flexibility in a compact DX solution.

Reliable

Continuous cooling operation

  • Wide operating range (from -20°C up to +52°C)
  • Boosted indoor capacity helps prevent freeze-ups and downtime

Efficient

High sensible cooling performance

  • Optimised operation in low-humidity environments
  • Free cooling option supports reduced energy consumption

Flexible

Wide range of indoor units (wall, ceiling, concealed, cassette)

  • Modular and scalable system design
  • Advanced control and redundancy options

Benefits of Sky Air solutions

Boosted capacity for server rooms

Sky Air systems are optimised for low‑humidity environments where heat transfer is reduced.

Boosted indoor capacity provides stronger indoor cooling performance, with higher operating temperatures and consumes less energy. This results in lower running costs and stable, reliable performance over time.

Built‑in reliability and control

Sky Air infrastructure cooling integrates reliability features directly intothe system. Duty rotation, automatic standby operation, alarm output sand flexible control options work together to maximise up time with minimal manual intervention.

The importance of using equipment designed for technical cooling

Comfort cooling

  • Humidity is present
  • Balanced sensible and latent capacity

→ 60-70% temperature control

→ 30-40% humidity control

Infrastructure cooling

  • No or limited humidity
  • Pure sensible capacity

→ 80-90% temperature control

→ 10-20% humidity control

IT rooms and server rooms are mission‑critical environments. Unlike comfort spaces, they require uninterrupted cooling, stable temperatures and systems designed for low humidity and continuous heat loads.

Key differences :

  • Continuous heat generation, day and night

  • Very low humidity → almost pure sensible cooling

  • No tolerance for downtime

  • Temperature stability (typically 20–22°C)

Standard comfort cooling is not designed for these conditions. Infrastructure cooling requires a dedicated approach.
