Discover the right balance: Daikin launches its first R-32 hybrid hydronic heat pump

Daikin has launched its first R-32 hydronic hybrid heat pump offering an even more environmentally friendly solution for energy conscious homeowners. The new R-32 Daikin Altherma hybrid hydrosplit heat pump provides perfect heating comfort while achieving the right balance between electricity and gas usage.

Managing the energy prices are crucial to ensure a lower energy bill. That’s why the Daikin Altherma Hybrid hydrosplit heat pump does it for you. The Daikin Altherma Hybrid hydrosplit heat pump is a versatile solution, allowing cost-efficient heating with less CO2 emissions.

Cost-efficient

By comparing the energy prices and making it match with your needs, the unit will make the right balance between the usage of gas or electricity. Therefore, you always use and pay the price of the most cost-efficient energy (as shown by the blue line).

Versatile

The new Daikin Altherma Hybrid hydrosplit heat pump provides both space heating and domestic hot water. Accommodating variations in demand according to family size, temperature and personal comfort preferences, the unit will always operate in the most efficient way to provide the required heat load and temperature.

Lower CO2 emissions

By selecting the appropriate technology (heat pump or boiler) based on current energy prices and heating demand, Daikin Altherma Hybrid hydrosplit heat pumps can significantly reduce CO2 emissions compared to standard gas condensing boilers. When operating in heat pump mode only, CO2 emissions are reduced to zero.

The use of R-32 also contributes to the reduction of the Daikin Altherma Hybrid hydrosplit heat pump’s environmental footprint. As a refrigerant, R-32 has a very low Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared to other refrigerants. The R-32 is stored inside a sealed circuit within the outdoor unit: this reduces risk with no refrigerant is inside the house and eliminating the chance of leakages.

No F-gas licence required

Thanks to its water connections between the outdoor and indoor units, all heating installers can install this unit with ease, without the need for further training.

More choice

The Daikin Altherma Hybrid hydrosplit completes the Daikin’s hybrid heat pump range which also includes a refrigerant split model 5-8 kW compatible with air conditioning units.
