Brussels, 18 February 2025 – Daikin, a global leader in HVAC-R solutions, is proud to announce its participation as a leading partner at the 'GBCI Europe Circle 2025’ conference in Prague on May 14-16th. This prestigious annual event brings together industry experts and innovators under the theme ‘From Innovation to Impact’.
GBCI (Green Business Certification Inc.) is the certification and credentialing body for LEED globally. The aim of GBCI’s Europe office is to drive the adoption of green business practices in the region through green building certifications such as LEED.
“We are excited to have Daikin as a key partner for GBCI Europe Circle 2025.” say Kay Killmann, Managing Director GBCI Europe. “This event will be an opportunity to showcase the company’s expertise and reinforce its commitment to green buildings. We look forward to seeing Daikin engage with our members in meaningful conversations and drive important discussions in the industry."
From Innovation to Impact
The theme of this year’s three-day event aims to explore how to bridge the gap between the solutions and innovations available in the market and the need to accelerate impact in decarbonizing the built environment.
“The theme could not be a better fit to Daikin’s DNA, which is why we partnered with GBCI to help make this great event possible,” says Bernard Dehertogh, Deputy General Manager at Daikin Europe. “At Daikin, we are proud to be one of the leading heat pump innovators, and we fully support the needed acceleration of sustainable technology. We are keenly aware that decarbonising the building sector presents complex challenges for stakeholders, as there is no one-size-fits-all solution."
That is why Daikin's strategy is to select the most appropriate solution for each application, balancing safety, energy efficiency, environmental impact, and cost over the entire life cycle of the product. At GBCI Europe Circle 2025, Daikin will highlight some of our newest heat pumps that utilise low GWP and natural refrigerants. To further support stakeholder in making informed decisions about carbon emissions, Daikin is also publishing Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for its heat pump solutions.”
LEED v5 Rating System
One of the topics of the event is an in-depth technical workshop on the new LEED v5 rating system. “Our Daikin LEED experts participating in the conference are looking forward to discussing the LEED points for HVAC equipment within the new LEED v5 rating system and how our commercial and industrial systems highly contribute to a project’s final LEED certification,” says James Krantz, Senior Consulting Sales Engineer at Daikin Europe. With over 20 LEED experts in-house, Daikin is well-equipped to provide in-depth support towards LEED certification for a wide range of projects.
