HRM Assistant for Japanese expats

The International Mobility & Benefits Department of Daikin Europe N.V. is looking for a HRM assistant to strengthen its team in Brussels/Ostend. This department is in charge of the HR-related support towards our employees, especially the employees who are rotated to/from Belgium or other countries.



Job Content

Your main task will be:

  • Take care of HR operational jobs
  • Process HR-related documents (e.g. applications for travel, expense settlement reports, etc.) for Japanese expats working in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and circulate them to the head office in Japan
  • Take care of and follow up immigration and tax filing process (e.g. Single Permit's new application and prolongation, special tax status, social security agreement, travel data, etc.) mainly for Japanese expats working in Belgium and occasionally for expats working in other EMEA countries, by communicating with expats themselves, outsourcing companies for immigration and tax, internal HR colleagues, and Japanese head office (both in Japanese and English language)
  • Take care of HR-related requests and exceptional cases concerning Japanese expats in consultation with superiors and Japanese head office
  • Foreseeing and analysing of labour costs for Japanese expats
  • Updating manuals for expats
  • (Other occasional support for HR planning related projects on demand (when necessary))


  •  At least 3 years of working experience (Preferably as a permanent contract employee in a Japanese company)
  • Sufficient communication skills as a native Japanese speaker (i.e. smooth communication with Japanese people inside and outside the company, based on logical thinking capability and customer-oriented mind, etc.)
  •  (Full) professional English proficiency (both in reading & writing and conversation)
  • Computer skills: intermediate level skills at Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Capability of working accurately
  • Preferably bachelors university degree or higher degrees
  • Work experience in the areas such as HR and supporting function (back-office) is an asset
  • Intermediate Dutch (or French) skill (both in reading & writing and conversation) is an asset
