The Corporate Planning division, located in Brussels, consists of several departments: Group Controlling, Business Analytics, Daikin Europe controlling, Corporate Communication as well as Internal control and SAP authorization office. Together these departments coordinate the budget-making and execution for Daikin in the entire EMEA region (turnover of approx. of 4 billion EUR)

Corporate Planning is responsible for drilling down the strategy into annual budget plans and realizing the group targets. Our mission is to safeguard and manage profitability, via reporting to top-management, close follow-up and by proposing countermeasure actions. Furthermore, the department is responsible for the development and implementation of corporate governance and internal controls in the group. Finally, we also take on any project that is considered priority by top-management.

One of the major company projects defined for the near future, is the improvement of customer master data governance. The aim is to draft a high level common procedure for the creation, maintenance and best-practice of the total customer master data in the group. In view of the continued growth of the company and systems, a more coordinated approach is required.

Job content

  • Define (customer) data strategies to reach the company objectives.
  • Support the business to manage their data and increasingly integrate relevant information and insights in their processes.
  • Collaborate with IT to dDetermine -based on today’s architecture- a to-be architecture for the processes and data in relation to customer master data maintenance, storage and exploitation.
  • Project will be conducted in close cooperation with IT Center EMEA and business owners from different fields: sales, service, credit control,..
  • The scope is therefore multiple systems, EMEA wide.
  • The business objectives concerning Customer master data” are wider than governance improvement, and include customer related data mining and data quality.
  • Act as project manager on a cross-functional team to ensure the definition of customer master data governance rules and operating model, centrally managed from HQ in Belgium.
  • Define an implementation roadmap in several steps according a justified prioritization, with a high-level description of each step (targets, organisation, cost/man-effort estimate).
  • Provide clear communications towards management and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen allowing to leverage data management concepts to reach strategic goals and improve operations.
  • Support the Change Management process when implementing the data governance
  • The project comprises a business side and technical side. This vacancy would focus on the business side, in close alignment with the technical / IT team.
  • You will be located in Brussels or Ostend, Belgium.
  • This function will start as a company-wide project, but will evolve into the set-up of a dedicated master data department at HQ level.



  • You have a Master's degree
  • You have experience in (customer) master data governance (organization, rules/procedures, systems) in a large multi-national company using SAP systems.
  • You may have other project or program management experience, dealing with several stake-holders in a complex environment.
  • You take initiative and can show leadership in a natural way. Make easy connections with people and is diplomatic. You are open for input from others, and combine conceptual thinking with practical suggestions.
  • Additionally, but secondary, some notion of relevant ‘tools’ in this context is considered as an advantage.
  • You have a process mindset, work accurately, and have the ability to dig into details without losing the helicopter view and demonstrate good communication skills
  • You are “hands-on” to support the various stakeholders
  • You are result-driven with a strong focus on improvements     
  • You have an good knowledge of English, knowledge of other EU languages are an asset.
