European Development Center
Every new breakthrough begins as a design. From that design follows a prototype—a prototype that is in turn evaluated and improved. Central to this process is the European Development Center (EDC), where the departments collaborate at the global level. The EDC is located in Ostend (Belgium), with satellites in Güglingen (Germany) and Plzen (Czech Republic).
Through the EDC Daikin develops new climate solutions for the European market. Our know-how is at the basis of our recent successes, such as the Daikin Altherma System, which is completely based on the revolutionary heat pump technology.
The structure of the European Development Center provides space for diverse talents so that at the Center, engineers are given the magnificent opportunity to prove themselves. If you would like to contribute to the creative brainstorming behind the newest developments and if you get excited about advanced technology, then you fit in perfectly in this environment.
Of course, the European Development Center (EDC) interacts closely with other departments, from sales to production and engineering.
Environment Research Center
For a long time now, Daikin has been striving to maintain a minimal ecological footprint and takes the lead in the area of environmentally conscious climate solutions. It is for this reason that our company founded the Environment Research Center in the EMEA headquarters. On the one hand, the ERC plays an important role in investigating green commercial opportunities for Daikin. Consider, for example, renewable energy sources in energy-efficient buildings. On the other hand, this center aims to start up a constructive dialogue with various parties who play an important role in the area of the environment, such as governments, research centres and universities.
